Cat Scan privacy policy

Last updated: 14 September 2026

This policy explains how Integrated Software Services handles information when you use Cat Scan and this website.

For privacy questions or requests, email mail@integratedsoftwareservices.com. Integrated Software Services is responsible for the personal information processed to provide Cat Scan.

Photos and AI analysis

When you take or select a photo for analysis, Cat Scan sends the image and your selected language over HTTPS to our backend service, hosted on Render. Our backend sends the image to OpenAI to produce the requested analysis. This includes photos of people submitted to the “What Cat Are You” feature.

The person-photo feature uses visible features to create an entertaining cat comparison. It is not used by Cat Scan to establish or verify a person's identity. Only submit images you have permission to use.

Our application backend does not write submitted images or complete scan results to its application database. Processing by service providers is subject to their own retention and security arrangements; this is not a promise that every provider immediately deletes an image after a request.

Information used by the app

Device permissions and local photos

Camera access lets you take photos. Photo-library access supports selecting images, saving confirmed camera cat photos and reading previously saved photos for History. You can manage permissions in your device settings.

The Save Photos setting controls saving successful camera cat scans to your device's photo library. Gallery images successfully analysed through the standard scan flow are separately copied into the app's private storage for History, regardless of that setting. The original selected image is not changed. The person-photo feature does not add its photos or results to saved History; temporary capture files may remain in device caches.

Why we use information and who receives it

We use information to provide requested scans, maintain your guest identity and coin balance, show local history, answer support requests and diagnose or prevent service problems. The current app does not include advertising or sell personal information.

This website does not add advertising, analytics scripts, forms or tracking cookies. Hosting providers may process access and security logs. When you choose Share App, your device passes the invitation and app link to the destination you select; that service handles what you share under its own policy.

Information may be processed outside your country. Applicable service-provider terms and data-protection arrangements govern that processing. We may also disclose information when required by law.

Storage and retention

On your device: saved history and preferences remain until removed or app storage is cleared. History keeps up to 250 metadata entries; this limit does not automatically delete older photo files. Clearing app storage or uninstalling removes app-owned local data, but photos saved to your device's photo library and any copies in your own backups must be removed separately.

Guest identity and coin records: the current app does not automatically expire these records after a fixed period of inactivity. Clearing or uninstalling the app does not itself delete its Firebase identity or backend wallet. Contact us about deletion using the instructions below.

Service logs and provider records: retention depends on the provider, account configuration, security requirements and any applicable backup or legal retention. We do not promise a single deletion period covering all providers. Contact us for information about retention relevant to your request.

Request deletion or privacy assistance

Email mail@integratedsoftwareservices.com with the subject “Cat Scan privacy or deletion request”. Tell us whether your request concerns local photos, your guest identity, coin records or a support conversation.

The app does not currently have a self-service account-deletion button. Guest identities are not linked to your email address, so an email alone may not identify your app records. We may need to work with you to identify and verify the relevant records before taking action. Do not send passwords, authentication tokens or unrelated photos. If possible, contact us before clearing the app's data, since losing the guest identity may make records difficult to identify.

You can remove app-owned local data through your device's app-storage settings and remove gallery photos through your photo app. This does not delete server records. Where information must be retained for legal or security reasons, we will explain the applicable limitation when responding to your request.

Your choices and rights

You can choose not to submit an image, disable photo saving, revoke device permissions or stop using the app. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us to exercise those rights. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

We use information needed to deliver the service you request and to support service reliability and security. Where consent is required for a particular use, you can withdraw it; this does not undo processing that has already occurred.

Security and policy updates

The app uses HTTPS for communication with our backend and authentication to protect access to wallet and scan operations. No system can guarantee complete security. This policy will be updated when the app's data practices change, with the latest revision date shown above.
